does an aquarium heater consume lots of electricity?

i have an aquarium at home and it has a heater.i was just wondering if it consume lots of electricity? thanks

If your heater was on all day it would be somewhat expensive because the average heater is around 200watts thats over 4 incandescent light bulbs, but unless your house is really cold all the time your heater will only be on once and a while making it very efficient and cost effective. Cheers Max

what aquarium heater is the most durable?

No. It’s very low wattage and the thermostat will turn it off frequently. In a centrally heated room it will hardly come on at all.

Not particularly, as the above answerer has mentioned the thermostat will turn it on and off as necessary so it won’t be on 24/7, unless your house/apartment is very cold.

No it does not. It heats the water to the required temperature then shuts off. When temperature falls it starts to warm up the tank again.
