If your aquarium heater has a thermostat to turn itself off, why can't you use a 50 watt heater in a 2.5 gallo?
tank? Seems like it would just heat the water to the preset temperature and then turn off, until the water temp dropped and it would turn on again.
as said.. if it's working properly it would be fine..
heaters usually stop working as opposed to staying on… or never break down anyways…
a heater for a 2.5 gallon tank would be cheaper than a 50W anyways.. so unless you already have one i'd just get the smaller heater
Will my aquarium heater for a 65 gallon aquarium overheat a 10 gallon tank?
If the heater were to malfunction you run the very serious risk of frying your fish.
An appropriate heater for a 2.5 gallon costs less than $15 in most pet stores.
