The motor is behind the tank near the floor and is a sealed unit. The track is also sealed and a in no danger of coming in contact with any salt water. I was worried about it rusting as well so I made sure it was the right tyupe of motor and far enough away from everything.

that is amzing where is the motor located at, my concern would be salt getting at the motor and tracks
