Is it normal for my heater to produce condensation on the top of the hood of my aquarium?

It’s very wet when I remove the hood and water drips off. Is it normal to have this much condensation? In the winter the entire inside of my hood is wet but in the summer, only the area where my heater is is wet.

It is because the tank is warmer than the room…. increased evaporation rate.Wider the difference between room and tank the faster the rate.

Summertime the evaporation rate above the heater is greatest because this is warmest part of tank (and heat rises) in relationship to room temperature if A/C is on.

Is it safe to keep discus fish with no glass "hood" on the aquarium?

It’s perfectly normal. During the winter your house is cooler, so there will be more condensation than during the summer.

Yeah this is totally normal, mine does that to. It’s just condensation from the light and the water, just think of it as the sun and like a river or something and the suns soaking up the water.I would recommend with not worring about it, or dry it off.
