Proper way to cut 29 Gallon Aquarium Hood?

I just bought a 29g AquaCulture Aquarium Kit and the hood has some sort of "knock-outs" on the top to make room for the bio filter. What's the safest way to cut these out for the filter?

Well, I had the same thing for my tank. Just pull'em real hard and twist 'em and bend 'em until they come off.

Should i be worried if moisture from condensation sticks to my aquarium hood and light bulb?
