what do i need to get a saltwater aquarium with all of its supplies, how much will it cost?

well what size do you want…….

i’ll do it for two sizes

for fish and invert only for a 20 gallon you this is what is needed

filter 20
heater 25
protein skimmer recommend (150)
lighting and tank 50-60
live rock 20lb 160
live sand 50

so your looking at 450-470

if you want coral the your looking at new lighting for about 200
total 700

55 gallon recommend

fish and invert only
tank, filter, and heater combo 200
stand 100
protein skimmer 200-250
live rock 450-480
live sand 100
better lighting 30
total 1200

for coral your looking at better lighting at about 400-600 dollars
so your looking at no less then 1600 to 2000

what supplies do i need for a freshwater aquarium?

Hi there! I was fortunate enough to get a 29 gallon eclipse which has filtration and lighting built in for $15 off of craigs list. All i had to purchase was salt, an air pump, fish, and live sand. I’ve spent upwards of $500 on the tank in total but it’s well worth the $ :)

it all depends on the size of the tank you want, i have a 14g i paid $54 it came with the tank, stock lights, and a filter. then i bought 18lbs of figi live rock for $1.99 a lb, 20lbs of ocean sand for $18, 96 watt coral life lights for $127, 50 watt heater $20, two water jets for $20 each, bio-cube protein skimmer for $25, a double fan for the hot summer days for $25, mounting legs for $13, a stand for $35. there are other things that i bought like test kits that i don’t remember how much they coast, but that is basically it.
