First of all, what fish is that applying to? A few reasons may be: Some fish may not be able to cohabit with other fishes; they are getting bullied. The fish you have may be a shoaling fish; they need to be in a group of 6 or so. Your water parameter is not suitable for that fish. The temperature is is low or high…etc

I have a 55 gallon fresh water tank, with community fish in the tank. My fish seem to be stressed out alot , hidding in the corner of the bottom of the tank. I have a filter , heater and air pump but something is stil wrong. Please let me know somebody.

the Ph thing probably did it. I read that ph stability is FAR more important than having the right ph. That fish can get used to inappropriate ph so long as it is stable.
ths ph solutions cause your ph to fluctuate too much because they only change your ph temporarily. Fish can’t take that stress.
If you want to change your ph permanently get some driftwood and put in your tank.

Are you sure that the water is dechlorinated? It’s best if you leave it sitting for at least 24-25 hours, depending on the quantity.
And also, are the fish at the top of the tank or at the bottom when you find them? Are their bodies intact or is there fin rot/signs of stress?
