ffiinnaally getting aquarium tanks. what do you guys think?

finally! :D i’m so happy i could spit. haha. i have been housing my crowntail bettas in 2 gallon bowls heated with a simple heat lamp and live hornwarts for awhile now. i found these 6 gallon marineland eclipse 6 systems for relatively cheap. they look like great tanks; they have the filter and a fluorescent light. i’ll be purchasing mini heaters for them as well.

do other betta owners recommend marineland? i’ve heard relatively positive things about them online. i’m super happy that i found them at good prices just before the winter season, too.

The marine land eclipes are good tanks but, as you would be buying two, IMO the $100 would be better spent on a 15g aquarium kit and put in a divider.

Mini heaters are not safe, any heater you buy needs to be thermostatic to keep the temperature stable. Submersible heaters are more effective and can be set horizontally in the tank for better heat distribution.
Visitherm are a good brand - http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2754055&lmdn=Fish and 100w would be ok for 15g.

For the eclipse 6 you’d need 25W or 50W heaters.
