    you can try having …
you can try having a yellow head jaw fish or maybe one false percula (oceslaris) clownfish. But this is considering that you start with a 10 gallon tank with bio-activated sand, and even better with live rock as well.

    I also advice you …
I also advice you not to put a goldfish, or any fish in a 2 gallon. Goldfish need 20 gallons+. They are very, very dirty.

    Yes, I recommend …
Yes, I recommend you to get a betta fish in a 5g tank with a heater and filter, being that you are a beginner. You can not magically inform yourself with all the knowledge of saltwater keeping without experience. You need to do lots of research on fishkeeping and freshwater keeping. Learn the basics such as cleaning, feeding, water changes, species needs, one inch of fish per gallon and how to cycle a tank. Cycling the tank is the most vital.

My protein skimmer is hung on the back of the tank. I’ve seen quite a few people who put their skimmer in the sump, which does not seem to be too bad of an idea.

  21. bao357 says:

    I do a 20% water …
I do a 20% water change every 2 weeks. I use a siphon tube to drain out the water into individual buckets. These buckets are then dumped into the drain. I replenish the tank with salt mixed RO water.
